Huib Jan van Oort

Huib Jan van Oort is an experienced archaeologist currently serving as a Regioarcheoloog at Omgevingsdienst Rivierenland since April 2013, where this role has been pivotal in promoting governmental archaeology in Gelderland. Additionally, Huib Jan van Oort acts as an advisor for archeology at SIKB since March 2021 and holds a position as treasurer on the board of the Convent van Gemeentelijke Archeologen since July 2017, advocating for the archaeological interests of over 200 municipalities in the Netherlands. Past roles include senior consultant and various board member positions, including at Stichting Ondernemersfonds Huygenskwartier Voorburg and Den Haag Doet. Huib Jan van Oort has a comprehensive academic background with a degree in Archaeology from Leiden University and additional studies at Utrecht University and Christelijk Lyceum Veenendaal.
