Sofoklis Kakouros

Sofoklis Kakouros is a seasoned researcher and speech scientist with extensive experience in the fields of speech and language technology, machine learning, and natural language understanding. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Helsinki since October 2021 and also working at Omilia - Conversational Intelligence, Kakouros's interdisciplinary expertise includes research on prosody and text-to-speech (TTS) systems, speaker and speech recognition projects, and the development of computer-based platforms for language typology. Previous positions include roles at Aalto University, Radboud University Nijmegen, and Nokia, among others, complemented by a solid educational background with a Doctor of Science from Aalto University and multiple master's degrees in related disciplines.
