Stephen Leung

Stephen Leung has over 20 years of experience in software quality assurance and systems engineering. From 1999 to 2003, they worked as a Systems Engineer at MD Robotics, where they oversaw systems software and hardware integration for the Canadarm2 project onboard the International Space Station. Stephen also wrote technical documentation such as specifications, requirements, test plans, software non-conformances, and verification and validation reports. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a Software Test Engineer at Merge Healthcare, an IBM Company, where they oversaw software quality assurance on two major medical imaging applications. Stephen wrote verification specifications, carried out systems integration and end-to-end testing, performed hazard analyses, created new software builds, and carried out all required QA procedures. From 2006 to 2010, they worked as a Lead Software Test Engineer at Sentinelle Medical Inc., where they oversaw software quality assurance during the development cycle of two major product lines and their associated web releases. Stephen wrote and carried out software requirement specifications, verification plans/protocols, release notes, user documentation and compiling verification reports. Stephen also maintained traceability from software requirements to verification results. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Senior Software Test Engineer at Hologic, Inc., where they oversaw software quality assurance during the development cycle of two major product lines and their associated web releases. Stephen wrote and carried out software requirement specifications, verification plans/protocols, release notes, user documentation and compiling verification reports. Stephen also maintained traceability from software requirements to verification results. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a QA Manager Medical Imaging Software at ClearCanvas Inc., where they oversaw software quality assurance during the development of seven major software releases. Stephen managed and mentored junior Software QA Analysts and monitored and reported on the team’s testing effort to management. Finally, from 2020 to present, they have been working as a QA Software Manager at Omniscient Neurotechnology (o8t).

Stephen Leung attended Queen's University from 1994 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Engineering. Stephen is also a Professional Engineer (PE) certified by Professional Engineers Ontario.
