Tom Asselman

Tom Asselman currently serves as the SVP Strategy and Chief Strategy Officer at OMV, a position held since January 2022, and previously held the role of VP Strategic Planning & Projects. Prior to OMV, Tom Asselman spent nearly two decades at Borealis, where responsibilities included serving as VP Strategy & Group Development and leading significant initiatives focused on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business development, sustainability, and public affairs. Key achievements at Borealis included overseeing large-scale projects and managing joint ventures with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. Tom Asselman is also a board member of Bayport Polymers and chairman of Novealis Holdings. Educational credentials include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from McGill University, an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, and additional programs in marketing and leadership from IMD.
