Diana Gonzalez Girones PhD has been working in the field of biomedical research since 2003. Diana began their career as a Pharmacist at Farmacia in 2003. In 2007, they moved to the University of Barcelona as a Ph.D. Researcher, where they specialized in Onco-Hematology and studied the effect and mechanism of action of various therapeutic agents for leukemia. In 2011, they worked as a Medical and Research Advisor Trainee at ADVANCELL-Advanced In Vitro Technologies SA and as a Clinical Trial Coordinator at IDIBELL. In 2012, they joined the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) as a Project Manager at the Technology Transfer Office and was also an Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona. In 2014, they were involved in the medical device project d·HEALTH Barcelona + PelvisUp, which resulted in the first intravaginal and adaptable device to treat urinary incontinence. In 2015, they became a Business Development Manager at ZBM Business Connect. From 2016 to 2022, they worked at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) in various roles, including Senior TT & Innovation Manager, Interim Head of Technology Transfer Office, and Technology Transfer & Innovation Manager. In 2022, they began their current role as Scientific Project Manager at ONA Therapeutics, where they contribute to the discovery and preclinical development of novel anticancer therapies and is responsible for the management of non-dilutive funding.
Diana Gonzalez Girones PhD obtained their Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Universitat de Barcelona in 2001-2006. Diana then went on to pursue a Master in Biomedicine from the same institution in 2006-2007. In 2009, they completed an Internship in Biocenter at Medizinische Universität Innsbruck. Finally, they earned their PhD in Biomedicine from Universitat de Barcelona in 2007-2012.
