Jean-Francois Vanbellinghen has worked in a variety of roles in the field of genetics since 2002. Jean-Francois's work experience includes Molecular Platform Leader and Genetics' Lab Supervisor at CHU Liège - Belgique from 2002 to 2011, Genetics' Lab Supervisor at Institut de Pathologie et de Génétique from 2011 to 2015, Responsable Opérationnel Plateforme de Biologie Moléculaire and Genetics Laboratory Supervisor at Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc from 2015 to 2016, Field Application Specialist and Subject Matter Expert at SOPHiA GENETICS from 2016 to 2022, and Scientific and Field based support at OncoDNA from 2022.

Jean-Francois Vanbellinghen studied at the University of Liège from 1993 to 2002, obtaining a Master's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology in 1997 and a Master's degree in Biotechnology in 1999. Jean-Francois attempted a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Genetics, but did not obtain the degree.
