Johannes Borchert

Johannes Borchert is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in risk management and climate resilience within the agricultural sector. Currently serving as the Global Head of Risk & Resilience at One Acre Fund, Johannes leads initiatives focused on establishing Africa's first non-profit reinsurance facility for smallholder farmers, developing micro-insurance products, and implementing climate risk strategies. Previous roles include serving as a Research Assistant at the Grantham Research Institute, where research concentrated on climate resilience in the UK wine sector, and co-founding Ocean College, managing sustainable educational projects. Johannes also held sustainability management positions at Systembolaget AB, overseeing sustainability programs and developing innovative frameworks for supplier risk assessment.
