Imke de Grahl began their work experience as a Visiting PhD Student and guest scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology in November 2010. Imke then went on to work as a Research Assistant (PhD Student) at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg from October 2011 to September 2015. In February 2016, they joined the University of Hamburg as a Research Scientist, where they worked until September 2022. Currently, they hold the role of Lab Operations Lead at one • fıve, starting in October 2022.

Imke de Grahl has a strong educational background in microbiology and biochemistry. Imke began their studies at Ruhr University Bochum in 2006 and completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry in 2009. During this time, they also had the opportunity to study at the University of Glasgow in 2008, through an Erasmus Scholarship, where they focused on biochemistry.

Following their Bachelor's Degree, Imke pursued a Master's Degree in Microbiology at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg from 2009 to 2011. This further deepened their understanding and expertise in the field.

Imke's educational journey culminated with the successful completion of their doctorate degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in Microbiology at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg from 2011 to 2016. Their doctoral research focused on general microbiology, further honing their skills and knowledge in this area.

Imke de Grahl's education history demonstrates their consistent dedication to the field of microbiology and biochemistry, as they progressively advanced their academic qualifications from a Bachelor's Degree to a Master's Degree and finally a doctorate degree.
