Derek Garniss

Derek Garniss serves as the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at ONE Health Information Technology Services since September 2022 and has held the CMIO position at Sault Area Hospital, where contributions commenced in October 2005. Additionally, Derek Garniss functions as an Emergency Physician and Medical Director of Emergency Medicine at Sault Area Hospital. Since January 2009, Derek Garniss has also served as a Medical Advisor for Pre-Hospital Care (EMS) at Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord. Derek Garniss earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Ottawa, completing the Emergency Medicine Residency Program.
