Kevin Essington

Kevin Essington has served as an environmental professional and leader for almost 25 years. Since 2020, he has been the executive director of the Roger Williams Park Conservancy in Providence, Rhode Island, ensuring the park is a vibrant place for everyone to enjoy. Kevin also worked for 9 years for the Trust for Public Land in Boston and for 10 years for The Nature Conservancy in Providence and Colorado.

Prior to those positions, Kevin led the establishment of the Montezuma Land Conservancy in the Mesa Verde area of southwest Colorado, and he was the environmental review coordinator for the Colorado Natural Heritage Program at Colorado State University.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Michigan and a master in environmental policy from the University of Denver. He lives in Providence, Rhode Island.
