Karen Alvarez

Karen Alvarez is an experienced academic tutor at One On One Learning since October 2018. Karen has held internships at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, contributing as a DEVELOP Intern in two separate terms during 2021 and 2022. Educational experiences include participation in the GPAP Plasma Physics Summer School organized by American Physical Society and completion of the CISM Space Weather Summer School at NCAR, offering in-depth exposure to astrophysical topics and space weather phenomena. Previous roles also include serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and a Student Research Assistant at UC Berkeley Space Sciences Lab, along with an internship at NASA Ames Research Center. Karen's educational background encompasses a GIS Certificate from California State University, Fullerton, a Master of Science in Geological and Earth Sciences from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, and a Bachelor of Arts in Planetary Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
