Early Head Start Education Coach at One Place

Mary Dawn Mays has extensive experience in the field of education and working with children with special needs. Mary Dawn began their career as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher at Danville City Public Schools from August 2018 to June 2019. Mary Dawn then moved on to work as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher at APPOMATTOX COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS from August 2019 to June 2020. Following that, Mary worked as a Behavioral Therapist at Autism Therapeutic Services from August 2020 to February 2021. Currently, they are employed as an Early Head Start Education Coach at One Place, starting in February 2022. Additionally, they previously held the role of EHS Home Visitor at One Place from February 2021 to February 2022.

Mary Dawn Mays attended Radford University from 2014 to 2018 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies. In July 2018, they obtained a Collegiate Professional License from the Commonwealth of Virginia. In May 2018, they obtained certifications in Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition and Intervention Training, as well as Dyslexia Awareness from the Virginia Department of Education. In August 2020, they obtained Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
