Shady Elfaham

Shady Elfaham is a realtor at The ONE Street Company. Prior to that, they worked as a program officer at World Learning and as a community outreach specialist at AFS Intercultural Programs USA. In their role as community outreach specialist, they led the overall outreach and recruitment strategies for the DMV area, designed materials and resources to promote intercultural exchange and study abroad programs, served as the POC for recruiting and interviewing prospective host families and applicants, and coordinated the multi-layer process of applicants’ screening, host families’ selection, interview phases, pre-departure orientations and cultural adjustment for USG funded programs. They also generated volunteer recruitment plans focused on diversifying the volunteer network, collaborated with leadership volunteers to develop annual hosting and sending plans, and identified relevant charitable giving programs as supplementary funding resources for students faced with financial difficulties to participate on AFS cultural exchange programs.

Shady Elfaham has a Master of Arts in International Education from the School for International Training, a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of the District of Columbia, and a Dentistry degree from Pharos University in Alexandria. They also have certification from the National Institutes of Health in NIH Certificate for Protecting Human Research Participants, certification from the U.S. Department of State in U.S Department of State’s Local Coordinator Certification, certification from Red Cross Youth in First Aid/CPR, and certification from RSM in Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) and Youth Risk Management Emergency Response.
