Dick Stroup has a diverse range of work experience in the field of architecture. Dick started their career as a Staff Architect at Neal Prince Architects in 1983, where they worked until 1985. Dick then joined Craig, Gaulden and Davis Architects as a Staff Architect until 1990. From 1990 to 2009, they served as the Corporate Architect at Milliken & Company, overseeing architectural and interior design for new facilities worldwide and leading projects for new corporate headquarters. Following that, they established their own firm, D. Richard Stroup, AIA, Architect, in 1986, where they worked as the Principal, focusing on architectural design, project management, and interior architecture. In 2011, they joined O'Neal, Inc. as the Staff Architect and Facilities Department Head, leading various projects in fields such as chemical and process plants. Dick then transitioned to McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture in 2016, where they initially worked as a Project Architect and eventually retired in April 2021.
Dick Stroup earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Architecture from North Carolina State University, where they attended from 1973 to 1977.
