Varun Madan

Varun Madan has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Varun is currently the Head of Engineering at Onehouse, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Confluent as a Senior Director of Engineering for their Streaming Platform from November 2019 to April 2023. During their time at Confluent, they were responsible for leading the launch of Confluent Stream Designer and building an internal custom compute platform.

Before joining Confluent, Varun worked at Oracle as a Senior Director of Software Development for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure from February 2018 to November 2019. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Software Development for the Container Native Group from July 2016 to January 2018.

Varun also gained valuable experience at Amazon Web Services, where they held various roles. Varun was the Head of Engineering/Software Development Manager for Amazon WorkDocs from November 2015 to July 2016. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Development Manager for Amazon WorkDocs and Amazon WorkMail. In addition, they managed a team of Software Engineers and System and Operation Engineers for Amazon EC2, focusing on EC2 Instance Status and improving customer experience from January 2012 to December 2013. Varun initially joined Amazon Web Services as a Software Engineer in July 2008.

Earlier in their career, Varun worked as a Senior Software Engineer at iSOFT from July 2005 to July 2007. Varun also gained experience as a Technology Associate at Perot Systems, where they started as an intern from May 2002 to June 2004 before becoming a full-time Technology Associate from 2004 to 2005.

Varun Madan has a diverse educational background. Varun began their academic journey at Apeejay School, where they pursued and successfully completed their high school education in Engineering from 1985 to 1999. Following this, Varun attended Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems. Later, they pursued further education at Cornell University from 2007 to 2008, earning a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science.
