Mika Vesalainen

Mika Vesalainen has extensive work experience in the field of engineering, specifically in the areas of test engineering, CI/CD, software development, and management. Mika is currently serving as the Director of Test Engineering at oneNav, Inc. starting from 2023. Prior to this, they worked at u-blox from 2016 to 2023, holding various roles including Senior Manager, Manager, Senior Engineer Team Lead, and Senior Engineer. At u-blox, they were responsible for implementing development workflow changes, leading the team in changing the company's git backend, and focusing on KPI visualization using Grafana.

Before joining u-blox, Mika worked at Qualcomm from 2011 to 2015, where they served as an Engineer, Staff/Manager and Engineer, Senior. During their time at Qualcomm, they played a major role in designing and implementing Galileo and QZSS support in Qualcomm modem software and porting the navigation software to multiple platforms. Mika also provided customer support in Taiwan.

Prior to Qualcomm, Mika worked at Atheros Communications from 2005 to 2011. Mika held positions as Senior Member of Technical Staff and HW/SW Design Engineer. At Atheros Communications, they served as the SW architect of the receiver manager component in GNSS software and designed and implemented the portable operating system abstraction for the GNSS software.

Furthermore, Mika has additional work experience at Tieto-X Oy as a HW/SW Design Engineer, Ailocom Oy as a HW/SW Design Engineer, Patria Ailon Oy as a SW Design Engineer, Instrumentointi Oy/SecGo Solutions Oy as a SW Trainee, and Andritz as an Office Trainee.

Mika Vesalainen's education history begins with their enrollment at Päijät-Hämeen ammattioppilaitos, where they completed a degree in Automation Mechanic from 1993 to 1996. Mika then pursued further education at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, specializing in Information Technology (HW), from 1997 to 2001, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
