Isharaka Gunasinghe

Isharaka Gunasinghe has a strong background in software and electrical engineering. Isharaka currently works as a Principal Software Engineer at oneZero Financial Systems since 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Staff Embedded Software Engineer at Seeing Machines from 2016 to 2023. Before that, they were a Senior Electrical Engineer at Thales Australia from 2016 to 2016. From 2006 to 2016, they held various roles at Continental Automotive Systems, including Senior Embedded System Design Engineer, Software Project Manager, and Requirement Analyst. Isharaka also worked as an Embedded Software Engineer at Continental from 2006 to 2009. Furthermore, they gained research experience as a Research Scholar at Australian National University in 2006 and as a Research Intern at National University of Singapore in 2003. Isharaka started their career as an IC Design Engineer at Freescale Semiconductor in 2005 and worked as an Electronic Design Engineer at Maptek in 2004.

Isharaka Gunasinghe completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics from the University of Adelaide in 2004. Isharaka later pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) in International Automotive Engineering from RMIT University between 2012 and 2014. In 2017 and 2018, Gunasinghe acquired a Self-Driving Car Engineer Nanodegree from Udacity, specializing in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Control. Before their higher education, they attended Ananda College from 1992 to 2000, where they obtained their GCE Advanced and Ordinary Level qualifications in Mathematics. Gunasinghe also holds additional certifications, including LFS426: Linux Performance Tuning from The Linux Foundation in 2020, Linux for Embedded Systems from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2015, [CPA-21-01] CPA – C++ Certified Associate Programmer from C++ Institute in 2015, and Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform from Sun Microsystems in 2006. In 2021, they pursued a Security Engineer Nanodegree from Udacity.
