John Crittenden

Engineer at Online Development

John Crittenden has over 30 years of work experience in the software engineering industry. John began their career in 1982 as a Project Engineer at Diversified Technology, where they were responsible for software designs for industrial control, energy management, and multi-user operating systems, as well as microprocessor-based hardware designs. In 1987, they moved to SunRiver Corporation (now Boundless Technologies) as a Software Engineer, where they were responsible for UNIX, OS/2, and Windows device drivers, production and end-user diagnostic software, and X Windows server software. John also supervised one full time programmer and a contracted software project. In 1991, they became a Software Consultant at Butler Service Group, where they were responsible for debugging, test, documentation, and maintenance of the TTY subsystem for the RS/6000 family of workstations. John also designed and documented a POSIX test suite for the TTY subsystem. In 1992, they joined IBM as a Staff Programmer, where they were responsible for design, test, documentation, and maintenance of several AIX device drivers and kernel services for the RS/6000 family of workstations. John successfully patented a software algorithm for optimizing peripheral device servicing. In 1994, they moved to Midwest Technical Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they contracted at Philips Consumer Electronics Company. John developed software to communicate between a central RS/6000 workstation and multiple remote sites, as well as implemented embedded control software for commercial video displays. In 1995, they became Manager of Software Development at Online Development.

John Crittenden obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1982. In April 2019, they earned a Cyber Security Specialist certification from TÜV Rheinland.
