Joe Percivall

Joe Percivall has a strong background in software engineering and technical leadership. Joe is currently serving as the Chief Engineer at Onsights.io, where they oversee engineering operations. Prior to that, they worked as the VP of Engineering at the same company.

Before joining Onsights.io, Joe volunteered and contracted as a Technical Advisor and Dev Lead at Global Emancipation Network. In these roles, they utilized big data to revolutionize the fight against human trafficking.

Joe has also been heavily involved with The Apache Software Foundation as a Committer and PMC member for Apache NiFi. Joe contributed to the development of the Apache NiFi project, a data integration system.

In addition, Joe has experience in the cybersecurity industry. Joe worked at Dragos, Inc. as a Principal Software Engineer, Midpoint Product Squad Lead, Senior Software Engineer, and Platform Lead. At Dragos, they developed a platform to safeguard civilization in the field of industrial cybersecurity.

Earlier in their career, Joe was a Software Engineer at Hortonworks, where they worked on the development team for Hortonworks DataFlow. Joe also briefly worked as a Software Engineer at Onyara.

Joe's expertise extends to full-stack development, as they worked as a Software Engineer at 42six Solutions. Joe contributed to the development of the DoDIIS App Engine, which later became known as "EzBake".

Joe Percivall completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. In June 2010, they received the Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate certification from Oracle. Two years later, in August 2012, Joe obtained the CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) certification from Scrum Alliance. In August 2015, they obtained the Associate of (ISC)² certification after passing the CISSP exam. Finally, in October 2017, Joe completed the Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp offered by Data Science Dojo.
