Shawna Garrett

Shawna Garrett is an experienced educator currently serving as a Sixth Grade Social Studies Teacher and previously as a Third Grade Teacher at Onslow County Schools since September 2022. With a robust background in teaching that spans over two decades, Shawna has held various teaching positions at Prince William County Public Schools, BASIS Independent Schools, Fairfax County Public Schools, and Suffolk Public Schools. Additionally, Shawna has contributed to the wine industry as a Senior Wine Consultant for WineShop At Home since April 2020. Shawna began a Master in School Administration program at East Carolina University in 2024, following a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mary Baldwin University obtained in 2000. Early career experience includes a role as a Park Greeter with Walt Disney World, where valuable leadership skills were developed.
