Christina Y.

Vice President, Technology Commercialization at Ontario Bioscience Industry Organization

Christina Y.'s work experience begins in 2006 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at University Health Network, where they worked until 2007. Christina then moved on to The Hospital for Sick Children, where they served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant from 2007 to 2008. In 2008, they joined Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto as a Ph.D. Candidate and remained there until October 2015. During this time, Christina also served as the Chapter Coordinator (Toronto) for the Canadian Association for Girls in Science (CAGIS) from 2009 to 2015. From 2015 to 2018, Christina worked as the Head of Research and Development at Ranomics. In 2018, they joined the Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization as a Program Manager, and subsequently held positions as Director of Early Stage Programs, Vice President of Strategic Programs, and Vice President of Technology Commercialization.

Christina Y. has a strong educational background in molecular genetics. Christina obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Christina later pursued further education and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Molecular Genetics at the same institution from 2008 to 2015.

In addition to their academic achievements, Christina has also acquired additional certifications in various fields. In November 2014, they obtained the "Fundamentals of Project Management I" certification from Mitacs Inc. In September 2013, they completed the "Entrepreneurship 101" course offered by MaRS Discovery District. Furthermore, in February 2014, they received the "Mini MBA" certification from Deloitte & Graduate Management Consulting Association.
