Olivia Yu

Olivia Yu has a diverse work experience spanning different communication roles in various organizations. Olivia began their career as a Communications Coordinator/Intern at Direct Energy in 2002. Olivia then worked as an Account Coordinator at Communications MECA/MECA Medicomm for a few months in the same year. In 2003, Olivia joined Environics Communications as a Consultant, where they stayed until 2011. During their time at Environics, they gained valuable experience in communication strategies and client management. In 2011, Olivia joined Weber Shandwick as an Account Director, leading Canadian outreach strategies and managing over $1.3 million of annual revenue. In 2013, they joined the Ontario College of Teachers, initially as a Senior Communications Officer and later as the Manager of Communications. In their role, they provided leadership and support, wrote influential political communications, and managed a team. Olivia has demonstrated their expertise and growth in the field of communications throughout their career.

Olivia Yu began their education in 1997 at York University, where they pursued an Honours B.A. degree in English. Olivia studied there until 2001. Following their time at York University, Olivia enrolled in Centennial College in 2001 and completed a Certificate program in Corporate Communications in 2002.
