Alia Karsan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and sectors. Starting in 2005, they worked as a Student-at-Law at Miller Thomson LLP. From there, they transitioned to the World Health Organization's Tobacco Free Initiative in 2007. In 2008, they became a Senior Policy Advisor at the Government of Ontario, where they stayed until 2009. In 2010, they joined the Government of Canada as a Senior Policy Advisor and worked there until 2011. Alia then moved to the Council of Ontario Universities, where they worked as a Senior Policy Analyst from 2011 to 2014. Alia'smost recent position was at the Ontario Hospital Association, where they held various directorial roles, including Director, Research and Discovery, Director of Policy, Director, Health Human Resources Policy, and (Acting) Director, Legislative, Legal and Professional Issues from 2014 to the present.
Alia Karsan attended Queen's University from 1998 to 2002 and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Psychology. Alia then pursued a Law degree at Queen's University from 2003 to 2006, obtaining an LL.B. degree. Following that, they went on to attend Harvard Kennedy School from 2009 to 2011 and obtained a Master in Public Policy (MPP) degree. The field of study for both their LL.B. and MPP degrees is not provided.
