Patrick Simon

Patrick Simon is a seasoned legal and policy professional with extensive experience in pension, employment, and human rights law. Currently serving as the Director of Pension Legal and Policy at the Ontario Pension Board since February 2017, Patrick has directed a legal and policy team for a large pension plan, handled member complaints, coordinated advocacy efforts, and collaborated with employers on compliance issues. Prior roles include Senior Pension Policy Strategist and Barrister & Solicitor at Johnstone & Cowling LLP, along with significant positions in the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions, and London-based firms Bryan Cave LLP and Linklaters. Patrick holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Oxford, and has contributed to various legal publications and advised government bodies on pension-related matters.
