Melanie Sanchez

Melanie Sanchez is a highly experienced legal professional currently serving as Senior Managing Director and Global General Counsel for Investments at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan since October 2014. Previously, Melanie held various roles within the organization, including Global General Counsel and Managing Director. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Melanie was a Partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, where practice encompassed transactional and corporate commercial advisory work, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and corporate reorganizations. Earlier experience includes serving as an Associate at Clayton Utz, involved in project financing transactions, and as a Litigation Paralegal at Clayton Utz, contributing to major infrastructure projects litigation. Melanie holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Honors and a Bachelor of Business with Honors in Finance, both from the University of Technology Sydney.
