Salman Bashir

Salman Bashir, CFA, has extensive experience in strategic asset allocation and total fund management, currently serving as Director at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan since March 2011. Salman's work includes developing portfolio construction and factor models for various asset classes, as well as enhancing total fund frameworks that address issues such as inflation-linked liability hedging and optimal leverage. Previously, Salman held senior roles within the Portfolio Strategy Group, focusing on portfolio analytics and data science initiatives. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Salman worked as a Financial Engineer at Algorithmics, specializing in risk management. Academic credentials include a Master of Information and Data Science from UC Berkeley, a Certificate in Advanced Risk and Investment Management from Yale University, and ongoing education at the CFA Institute.
