Shaila Sinha

Shaila Sinha has extensive work experience in the field of database engineering and administration. Shaila is currently working as the Lead, Database Engineering at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Rogers Communications as the Database Services Manager from August 2017 to June 2021 and as an Oracle DBA from December 2014 to August 2017. Shaila also has experience working at TCS as an Oracle Database Administrator from January 2007 to December 2014.

Shaila Sinha completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science from the West Bengal University of Technology in Kolkata. This education took place from 2002 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Shaila has obtained multiple certifications. Shaila earned the Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Associate in June 2012. More recently, they have obtained several certifications from Microsoft, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals, and DP-201 Designing an Azure Data Solution. These were all earned in 2021. Shaila also holds the Apache Cassandra 3.x Administrator Associate Certification from DataStax, obtained in June 2020, and the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2019 Architect Associate, Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud 2019 Certified Specialist, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations 2020 Certified Associate, all obtained in 2020. Additionally, they have completed additional courses and programs, including Introduction to PostgreSQL from LinkedIn in November 2023 and the Teachers’ Academy Ignite program from Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan in July 2023.
