Maximillian Hekmat

Maximillian Hekmat has extensive experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) across multiple companies. Maximillian is currently serving as the Sr. Director of Environmental Health and Safety at Onto Innovation since March 2022. In this role, they not only handles traditional EHS topics and regulations but also takes on leadership responsibilities, working closely with executives and the board of directors. Maximillian actively engages in Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) initiatives, aiming to enhance the company's standing in the industry and communities where they operate while advancing EHS culture and maturity.

Before joining Onto Innovation, Maximillian held the position of Director of Environmental Health and Safety (Global) at the same company from May 2019 to March 2022. Maximillian also established and implemented organizational goals, policies, and procedures, while monitoring and evaluating operational effectiveness.

Prior to Onto Innovation, Maximillian worked at Gilead Sciences as a Director from November 2018 to May 2019 and as an Associate Director from 2016 to November 2018. Before that, they served as a Sr. HESS Manager at Bayer HealthCare from 2012 to 2016.

Maximillian Hekmat has a Master's degree in EHS from the University of Minnesota. Maximillian also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a concentration in Business Administration and Management, General, both from the University of Minnesota. In addition to their academic achievements, Maximillian Hekmat has obtained several certifications, including Certified Hazardous Materials Management (CHMM) from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and Registered Environmental Manager (REM) from the National Registry of Environmental Professionals.
