Petar Žuvela has a diverse work experience spanning across various roles and industries. Petar started their career as a Student Research/Teaching Assistant at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, where they conducted research and teaching in the Chemometric research group. Petar then worked as a Research Fellow at the Medical University of Gdansk, focusing on experimental work in protein-ligand binding. After that, Petar served as a Lecturer at Busan Global Center and later worked as an Administrative Secretary/Translator at Translation Experts d.o.o.
Petar then transitioned into the field of data science, starting as a Research and Teaching Assistant/Associate at Pukyong National University. During this time, they developed and optimized computational methods for analytical problems and built machine learning models using high-dimensional data. Petar continued their work as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, where they focused on developing quantitative machine learning models and supervised students.
In 2019, Petar joined Onto Innovation as a Data Scientist and later progressed to the role of Senior Data Scientist. Petar contributed to the development of disruptive algorithms, products, and technologies in semiconductor metrology, utilizing machine learning and AI. Petar also actively contributed to R&D and software processes in the company, managing high-impact ML/AI/SW projects and troubleshooting for internal and external stakeholders.
Petar also serves as an Editorial Advisory Board Member for Chemistry in Industry, Journal of Chemists and Chemical Engineers of Croatia since 2022.
In addition, Petar has volunteered at Jurong West Spring V2 and has been involved in various academic and research projects at different universities and institutions. Petar'swork experience showcases their expertise in data science, research, teaching, and project management.
Petar Žuvela's education history began in 2002 when they attended Gimnazija Gospic for their secondary education, where they studied general studies. After graduating from high school in 2006, they went on to enroll at the University of Zagreb/Sveuciliste u Zagrebu in 2007. There, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Environmental Engineering, which they completed in 2011.
Following their undergraduate studies, Petar continued their education and joined the University of Zagreb/Sveuciliste u Zagrebu again in 2011. Petar pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Applied Chemistry, which they achieved in 2013. Additionally, during that same year, they briefly attended Nicolaus Copernicus University to study Environmental Chemistry and Bioanalytics.
In 2014, Petar Žuvela took a significant step forward in their academic journey by enrolling in Pukyong National University. Petar pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemical Engineering, which they successfully completed in 2017.
