Hanna Schiess is a Senior Crew Systems Integration Engineer at Onyx, focusing on systems integration for crew systems related to Starlab since January 2024. Previously, Hanna served as a Structural Engineer II at Sierra Space from December 2019 to November 2023 and worked as a Structures Engineer at Belcan from June 2018 to November 2019. While pursuing a Ph.D. at Rice University, Hanna conducted research on astronaut exercise in microgravity using the ARED device and OpenSim. Early experience includes roles as a NASA OSSI Intern and Engineering Intern at NASA, where Hanna contributed to various projects including developing Python scripts for the Orion Spacecraft and performing ergonomic analysis in the Human Factor Tool Lab. Additional internships at Range Generation Next and Aerojet Rocketdyne provided further experience in engineering operations and hypersonics propulsion. Hanna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Florida.
