Matt Knebl

Vice President, Product at Ookla

Matt Knebl has a broad range of experience in the technology industry. Matt is currently working at Ookla as the Vice President of Product, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Sr. Product Director at Ookla starting from October 2019.

Before joining Ookla, Matt held various positions at Further Enterprise Solutions (FES), a company they joined in 2007. Matt also served as a Senior RF Engineer at AT&T Mobility from August 2003 to March 2006, where they were responsible for network design and optimization of the Los Angeles market and served as a subject matter expert for the western U.S.

Before joining AT&T Mobility, Matt was a Principal Engineer at WFI from August 1998 to August 2003. In this role, they oversaw teams of up to 30 RF engineers on wireless network design and optimization projects across the U.S. Prior to WFI, they worked as a Sr. RF Engineer at Omnipoint Communications (now T-Mobile) from August 1997 to August 1998, and as an RF Engineer at VoiceStream Wireless (now T-Mobile) from August 1996 to August 1997.

Matt began their career at AT&T Wireless Services in September 1994 as an RF Engineer, where they worked until August 1996.

Overall, Matt Knebl has demonstrated extensive experience and expertise in product management, technology leadership, and wireless network design throughout their career.

Matt Knebl completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Wilkes University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. Matt later pursued a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business, graduating in 2008.
