Antti Pessi

Antti (Andrew) Pessi is a seasoned data scientist specializing in climate risk modeling, currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at OP Financial Group since August 2023. Previously, Antti worked at Kettle, where contributions included modeling and predicting wildfires in California utilizing advanced machine learning algorithms for reinsurance, and at SiteZeus®, developing location intelligence software for predicting spatial revenue distributions. With a strong foundation in meteorology, Antti has experience as a Research Scientist at Vaisala Inc., designing real-time neural network systems, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, focusing on hurricane simulations. Antti's academic background includes a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and an M.S. in Meteorology from the University of Helsinki.
