Braden Houston

Managing Director - Project Development at Opdenergy

Braden Houston has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Braden'smost recent role was as the Managing Director of Project Development at OPDE, where they were responsible for all aspects of project development and power sales for utility-scale solar projects in the United States. Prior to that, Braden worked as the Sr. Project Development Manager in the M&A Group at Solar City, overseeing project development, customer interface, and site identification and acquisition. Braden successfully developed and installed multiple greenfield and landfill projects, including one of the largest battery storage integrated projects in the country.

Braden also held the position of Managing Director in the Citizens Wind Energy division of Citizens Energy. In this role, they managed the development of wind projects in South Dakota and Quebec, and negotiated exclusive development partnerships with Native American Tribes. Braden also spent time at Verenium, now part of BASF, as the Director of Project Development.

Earlier in their career, Braden gained valuable industry experience through a comprehensive rotational program at GE Power & Water, where they worked as a Project Management Manager. Braden managed multiple wind projects, facilitated the installation of prototype technologies, and led cross-functional teams. Braden also served as a Financial Consultant at Cape Wind Energy and a Financial, Fund Raising, and Marketing Consultant at SkyEurope Airlines.

Braden started their career as a Project Supervisor at Chase and later completed a summer internship at PNC, where they focused on private equity, equity research, and portfolio management.

Braden Houston pursued their education in a chronological order, starting with their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and History from Bucknell University, which they obtained from 1989 to 1993. Following that, they accomplished a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in History from Colgate University, completing it between 1993 and 1995. Continuing their educational journey, Braden attended The Wharton School from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree specializing in Finance and Strategic Management. In addition to their academic qualifications, Braden Houston holds a certification as a Licensed Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson from the Massachusetts Real Estate Board.
