Kent Winrich has an extensive work experience in the technology industry. Kent started their career in 1999 as the Regional Security Manager at IBM. In 2002, they became the Head of Security Products and Network Management at Masterlink. In 2004, they were the Director of Engineering at Clear Channel in Milwaukee. From 2006 to 2010, they worked as a Systems Analyst at BAE Systems, consulting with the US Army Psychological Operations. In 2010, they became the Head of Professional Services, Field and Broadcast Engineering at VidyoCast Division of Vidyo, Inc. In 2013, they were the Senior Engineer at Hibernia Media. From 2014 to 2016, they were the Director of Broadband and Infrastructure at the City of Salisbury, NC. During this time, they created a vision and gained support to make Salisbury the fastest city in the world at 10 Gigabit. In 2016, they became the Principal at Winrich Consulting and the Chief Technology Officer at Open Broadband LLC. In 2019, they became the Co-Chairman North Carolina at WISPA - Wireless Internet Service Provider's Association.
Kent Winrich obtained a BS in Communications and Business from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh between 1979 and 1983. In 2016, they completed a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate from the Wake Forrest Business School.
