Heather Snow

Director of Behavioral Health at Open Door Community Health Centers

Heather earned her Masters of Social Work at New York University and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Pittsburg State University.

Prior to this new role Heather served on the Board of Directors for Open Door and worked as the Director for the Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services for six years. She currently teaches Social Work and Human Services at College of the Redwoods as part of the Pelican Bay Prison Scholars Program.

Heather enjoys incorporating different therapy modalities such as Gestalt therapy, Animal- Assisted Therapy, Trauma-Informed Yoga, and EMDR. She values equity and inclusion, connecting with marginalized communities, and removing barriers to access.

She grew up in the heart of the U.S. and lived in New York City for a decade before relocating to the North Coast in 2016. When she is not working she enjoys relaxing with her husband and their three dogs. Heather is honored to support the mission of Open Door.
