Daren Wu

Chief Medical Officer at Open Door Family Medical Center

Daren Wu has work experience as a Commander in the US Navy Reserve since February 2017. Prior to that, they have been working at Open Door Family Medical Centers since July 2001, where they currently hold the role of Chief Medical Officer. Their responsibilities include practice administration, direct patient care as a Family Physician, teaching medical students, and being a founding member of a Family Medicine Residency program. Daren leads a team of over 100 clinicians in their efforts to improve health equity and reduce barriers to affordable and high-quality healthcare services.

Daren Wu began their education journey by attending Columbia University from 1990 to 1994. Daren pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, with a focus on General Biology. Following their undergraduate studies, they went on to enroll at Stony Brook University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. Daren studied at this institution from 1994 to 1998, earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine. After completing their medical degree, they embarked on further education at the New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia. Daren participated in the Family Medicine Residency Program at this hospital from 1998 to 2001.
