Dick Batten

Dick Batten has over 20 years of work experience in the field of human resources and organizational development. Dick started their career in 1998 as the Divisional Vice President of HR at Polaroid Corporation, where they were responsible for HR functions worldwide. During their time at Polaroid, they also served as the Vice President of Human Resources and was a member of the Senior Leadership team. In this role, they focused on HR strategy, organizational and management development, performance management, employee communications, and employee relations.

In 2006, Batten joined Karen Karp & Partners as the Director of the Good People are Good Business Division. Dick later became the Vice President of the same division in 2013. At Karen Karp & Partners, they specialized in talent and performance management, organizational assessment, capacity building, executive coaching, recruiting, and employee engagement services.

In 2013, Batten founded their own company called dbHR | Dick Batten Human Resources. As the Principal of dbHR, they provide human capital support to for-profit and non-profit organizations, as well as individual clients. Their services include recruiting, organizational development, and coaching.

Batten also has experience working in the non-profit sector. In 2009, they served as the Vice President of Human Resources at City Harvest, a food rescue organization dedicated to feeding low-income residents of New York City. In 2014, they joined Open Door Family Medical Centers as the Chief Talent Officer.

Throughout their career, Batten has built a strong foundation in HR strategy, organizational effectiveness, and talent management.

Dick Batten pursued their education in sociology, earning a Drs degree from the University of Amsterdam, where they attended from 1968 to 1978. Following this, they continued their academic journey at Boston College, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Sociology from 1979 to 1987. Overall, Dick Batten's education history demonstrates a focus on sociology, with their degrees obtained from the University of Amsterdam and Boston College.
