Javier De La Torre

Javier De La Torre is the current director at Open Geospatial Consortium. Javier has also worked as the founder and CEO of Vizzuality, a company dedicated to design and development of Rich Internet Applications for biodiversity information. Javier has also been a researcher at Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales and Botanischer Garten und Botanisches Museum Berlin-Dahlem. In addition to their work in the private sector, Javier has also been involved in standards development at TDWG.

Javier De La Torre has an executive education from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in innovation and growth with Endeavor. Javier also has a degree in agriculture engineering from Freie Universität Berlin in biodiversity informatics. Finally, they have a degree in agriculture engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in major.
