John Bost is an accomplished leader in non-profit management and community service, currently serving as Executive Director at Open Heart Kitchen of Livermore, Inc. Since January 2023, Bost has previously held significant leadership roles, including Chairman of the Board at Livermore Homeless Refuge from June 2013 to June 2023, where Bost revolutionized organizational efficiency and increased funding by 500%. Bost's community-oriented approach led to a landmark partnership to establish permanent-supportive housing. Additionally, Bost served as Lead Pastor/Head of Staff at Holy Cross Lutheran Church from January 2007 to December 2022, focusing on outreach and community engagement, and provided leadership as Executive Director and Chairman of the Board for Haitian Timoun Foundation from April 2008 to December 2010, where Bost developed strategic partnerships and enhanced digital presence. Open Heart Kitchen

Open Heart Kitchen (OHK) is the largest prepared meal provider in the Tri-Valley region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1995, we have served over 7 million nutritious meals—free of charge—to low-income families, seniors, unhoused individuals, and others facing food insecurity. We believe access to healthy food is a human right. OUR PROGRAMS: -Community Meal Program: Free meals for anyone in need, available for dine-in or to-go. -Senior Meal Program: Free meals for individuals age 60+, served in a social setting. -Open Heart Refuge: An overnight shelter for adults, providing a safe place to rest 365 nights a year. -Pop-Up Pantry: A free grocery distribution, supporting hundreds of local households. -Open Heart Food Bank: The first food hub in the Tri-Valley, supporting not only our Pop-Up Pantry Program, but the grocery distribution efforts of our partners throughout the region. Powered by dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partnerships, OHK serves over 400,000 meals annually and plays a central role in building a more equitable and compassionate food system in the Tri-Valley.
