Sean Tierney

VP Of Customer Success at Open LMS

Sean Tierney started their career as the Public Sector Presales Manager at BMC Software in 2002. Sean later worked at IBM as a Technical Sales Manager from 2006 to 2010. After that, they returned to BMC Software and held various roles, including Director of Software Consulting for Public Sector and AVP of Presales. In 2014, they became the AVP of WW ITSM Presales at BMC Software. In 2016, they joined Blackboard as the VP of Customer Success and Solution Engineering for North America and later became the Vice President of Global Field Sales Support. Sean took a break in 2022 to spend time with their family and publish a book as an Independent Consultant and Author. In 2023, they joined Open LMS as the VP of Customer Success.

Sean Tierney earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. Sean later obtained certifications such as the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in November 2022, the APMP® Bid and Proposal Management Foundation 2022 from APMG International in June 2022, and the Advanced Customer Success Manager Certified Professional, Customer Success Leader Certified Professional, and Customer Success Manager Certified Professional from Gainsight in June 2022. Additionally, they hold an Oracle Developer Certificate from George Mason University obtained in 1999 and an ITIL Foundation Level certification from Pink Elephant.
