Karen Carloni

Karen Carloni, LCPC, NCC, currently serves as the Executive Director of Southern Maryland Community Network, Inc. since May 2013, where responsibilities include strategy, mission direction, and fiscal accountability for programs supporting adults and youth with severe mental health needs. Karen also contributes to Choosing Therapy as a writer on behavioral health topics since January 2021. Previously, experience includes roles as Psychotherapist in Private Practice at Synergy e Therapy and Deputy Director at Southern Maryland Community Network, where clinical programs were managed. Educational background includes a Master’s degree in Counselor Education from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Florida, along with ongoing education at Bowie State University.
