Andrew Mockett

Andrew Mockett is a seasoned educator and professional with a diverse background in both teaching and digital advertising operations. Currently serving as a High School Language Arts Teacher and Advocate at Open School since January 2020, Andrew has taught various subjects including modern justice, creative writing, journalism, film studies, literature, and composition to students aged 14 to 19. Prior to this role, Andrew held managerial and operational positions at companies such as Belmont Coffee Service and Oath, where strategic leadership during the AOL/Yahoo merger was key. Andrew also gained significant experience at Yahoo!, progressing through various roles in ad operations from Account Specialist to Senior Supervisor, managing teams and ensuring campaign success for major advertisers. The career began as a Journalist/Editor at The Bakersfield Californian, where a range of editorial responsibilities were undertaken. Andrew holds a Master of Education from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from California State University, Bakersfield.
