Dr. Christine Pitts

Dr. Christine Toribio Pitts currently serves as President and CEO at Open School, where responsibilities include leading organizational strategies and overseeing initiatives since 2023. In addition, Dr. Pitts chairs the Board of The Fund for Portland Public Schools and holds the position of Senior Fellow at Education Northwest, both established in 2024. As the founder and principal of Pitts Consulting, LLC, Dr. Pitts focuses on forming strategic alliances and guiding policy direction in education. Previously, leadership roles included Board President at Portland Backpack, Director of Impact and Communications at the Center on Reinventing Public Education, Research and Evaluation Manager at Portland Public Schools, and Policy Advisor at NWEA. Dr. Pitts possesses a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Leadership and Policy from the University of Oregon, complemented by a Master of the Arts in Reading Education and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Carolina University.
