Brian Francoise is an accomplished leader in community engagement and arts education, currently serving as the Director of the Lakeland Community and STEAM Center at the University of Maryland Baltimore County since April 2019. Brian is also an OSI Baltimore Community Fellow, where the focus is on addressing challenges in underserved communities through the Sister Neighborhood Arts Program. As an Affiliate Faculty member at Goucher College, Brian teaches courses on community cultural development and provides education to incarcerated individuals through the Goucher Prison Education Partnership. Additionally, Brian is a co-founder of Theatre Action Group, which promotes activism through performance, and has held previous roles including Director of Community Engagement at Everyman Theatre and Deputy Director at Maryland Citizens for the Arts. Brian holds an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BA in English Literature and Theatre from James Madison University.
