Emma Powell

Emma Powell is an experienced Employee and Labor Relations Manager at Open Society Foundations, overseeing employee relations strategies and grievance processes across the US, London, and Latin America since June 2023. Prior to this role, Emma spent nearly nine years at the Professional Staff Congress, first as Coordinator of Contract Administration, where responsibilities included contract guidance, dispute mediation, and training for members, and then as an Organizer, focusing on political organizing for CUNY's 25,000 members. Emma's earlier career included positions as Head of Membership and Democracy and Governance Consultant for the National Union of Students (UK), as well as Employment Advisor for Ingeus, and Recruitment Consultant for Huxley Associates. Emma holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies from the University of Kent.
