Elliot Kroo

Elliot Kroo is an accomplished technology leader with a diverse background in engineering and entrepreneurship. As a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since September 2025, Elliot brings extensive experience from previous roles including VP of Engineering at Hover and Founder and CTO of Getaround, where Elliot co-founded a pioneering peer-to-peer carsharing platform that launched successfully at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2011. Earlier in the career, Elliot founded and sold an iPhone game, "Archers," achieving millions of downloads. Elliot's engineering expertise includes significant contributions at AppJet Inc. and a pioneering role in the development of Google Street View and next-generation maps. Elliot holds a high school diploma from Gunn High School.
