Giambattista Parascandolo has extensive experience in research and academia. Giambattista most recently worked as a Research Scientist at OpenAI, focusing on reasoning in the Reinforcement Learning and Algorithms teams. Prior to this, Giambattista served as a PhD Candidate at both Max Planck Society and Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich. Giambattista also worked as a PhD Research Scientist Intern at DeepMind, and as a Machine Learning Resident at X, the moonshot factory. Giambattista's earlier work experience includes positions at Tampere University of Technology as a Project Researcher, Research Assistant, and Teacher Assistant, where they worked on Deep learning, Recurrent Neural Networks, and assisted with courses. Furthermore, they served as a Teacher Assistant at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata," where they assisted with the Mathematical Methods in Computer Graphics course.
Giambattista Parascandolo has a bachelor's degree in Mathematics Department – Media Sciences and Technologies from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, which they earned from 2010 to 2013. From 2014 to 2015, they completed their Master of Science in Information Technology at Tampere University of Technology. Giambattista then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science – Machine Learning from both the Max Planck Society and ETH Zürich, where they studied from 2017 to 2021. In August 2020, they obtained a certification in Center for Brain, Minds & Machines Summer Course from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
