Husan Chahal

Husan Chahal is a seasoned professional in geopolitics and AI policy research, currently serving as a Geopolitics & AI Policy Researcher at OpenAI since February 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Analyst at the Center for Security and Emerging Technologies from March 2019 to February 2023, and a Security Analyst at The World Bank for a brief period in late 2018. Additionally, Husan has contributed to academic research at Georgetown University, supporting Dr. C. Christine Fair and the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace & World Affairs, while also being a Junior Centennial Fellow at the School of Foreign Service. Early career experience encompasses a Business Risk Intelligence Analyst role at Prevalent and program coordination at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies. Husan began the career at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses as a researcher. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Security Studies and a Data Science Certificate from Georgetown University, a Master's degree in International Security from the University of Nottingham, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Delhi University.
