Valerie Qi

Valerie Qi is a skilled design professional currently serving as a Member of the Design Staff at OpenAI since January 2024, focusing on enhancing user interaction with ChatGPT. Previously, Valerie held the position of Product Design Manager for AI, Foundations, and Solutions at Airtable from January 2022 to January 2024, leading the content design team and product design efforts. As the Head of Content Design and later the Director of Content Design at Slack from June 2018 to January 2022, Valerie directed the content strategy and product voice initiatives. Valerie's experience also includes roles as a Senior Content Design Manager and Lead Product Writer at Instagram, as well as a Content Strategist at Facebook. Valerie began a diverse writing career from December 2010 to March 2014 as a freelance journalist, contributing to notable publications. Valerie's academic qualifications include a BA in Psychology from Stanford University and an MA in Science Journalism from New York University.
