Emile Spek

Emile Spek has extensive experience in leadership roles within various organizations. Since August 2011, Emile has served as the General Director of Real Estate & Technology at Amsterdam UMC, which resulted from the merger of AMC and VUmc, creating a premier academic hospital in Amsterdam. Emile is also a board member of the Stichting Gastenverblijven Amsterdam UMC and a vice-chair of the Supervisory Board at DUWO Student Housing, demonstrating a commitment to affordable housing solutions. Additional board positions include serving on the Supervisory Board of the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam and as a board member of the Stichting Kathedrale Basiliek Sint Bavo. Previous roles include Director of Project Development at Ymere and an organizing board member of Europan Nederland, emphasizing a strong focus on architecture, urban development, and community engagement. Emile holds a drs in social geography from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and has completed advanced management programs at INSEAD.
